Description

Replacement Kit for CHARGE-PAK Battery Charger for the Physio-Control LIFEPAK CR® Plus/EXPRESS.

 

This replacement kit contains the following items:

  • One CHARGE-PAK charging unit
  • Two sets of QUIK-PAK pacing/defibrillation/ECG electrode pads
  • CHARGE-PAK discharger, which is used to safely deplete a used CHARGE-PAK prior to disposal or recycling

The Physio-Control LIFEPAK CR Plus and EXPRESS function slightly differently from other AEDs. Instead of a battery, these AEDs use the Physio-Control CHARGE-PAK battery system, which charges an internal, permanent battery inside the AED device. After an AED use or about two years (whichever comes first), the battery charger and electrode pads both need to be replaced.

 

The cost to replace the CHARGE-PAK and electrode pads for the CR Plus or EXPRESS is about as much or a little more than replacing just electrode pads on many comparable AEDs. On other AEDs, you also have to replace the battery periodically, and that’s typically a higher cost. When the battery charger and electrode pads are on the same replacement cycle, you know your LIFEPAK CR Plus or EXPRESS is ready for use.

 

When you replace the battery charger, it begins to charge or top off the defibrillator’s internal battery. Depending on temperature, the full process can take anywhere from a few days up to two weeks.

  • If the AED was used recently, it may take up to three days to top off the battery at normal room temperature of 68°F or 20°C
  • During this time, the caution symbol (!) will be visible on the Readiness Display. When the caution symbol turns off, the device will be able to shock at least six times or provide 42 minutes of “on” time
  • When the device switches to “OK” on the Readiness Display, the CHARGE-PAK will still continue to trickle charge the battery until it reaches full capacity. At normal room temperature, this may take up to two weeks. It may take longer at lower temperatures. Please note the battery may not charge at temperatures lower than 32°F or 0°C.

A CHARGE-PAK battery charger becomes internally linked to the first AED into which it is inserted. A CHARGE-PAK cannot be removed from one AED and inserted into another; it won’t charge the second AED. If this happens, the battery charger must be discarded and replaced.

 

When using the CHARGE-PAK discharger, allow nine days for the discharge process to complete before recycling or disposing of the used CHARGE-PAK.

Return Policy

Shipping Terms:

 

Orders will be shipped via UPS Standard Ground unless other handling is requested or deemed more economical.  QuadMed will pay standard ground shipment costs on all orders over $150.00 for any shipments delivered within the continental U.S., except for oversized shipments or those exceeding weight limitations.  For oversized shipments and those exceeding weight limitations, standard shipping rates will apply. 

 

Any order under $150 will incur a $14.95 shipping & handling fee for shipment delivered within the U.S.  Actual shipping rates apply for any orders going to Alaska or Hawaii.  For all resellers, freight will be prepaid and added to the invoice.  Shipments will be made to business addresses only.

 

International Orders:

 

There is a $2,500.00 minimum for orders placed for delivery outside the U.S.  International orders must be prepaid via wire transfer.  Receipt of wire transfer is required before any shipments are made on the order.  If the product(s) requires a Medical Authorization document, it must be submitted in English and received prior to product shipment.

 

Return Policy:

 

Written authorization must be obtained prior to returning merchandise.  All returns should be sent back within 30 days in new, resalable condition.  Returns are subject to a 20% restock fee.  Merchandise held longer than 60 days, or custom orders, are not returnable.  All returned items must be prepaid and sent back to QuadMed.  Returns must be received by QuadMed within 14 days of RMA issuance.  Please have the RMA written clearly on the outside of the package or on the shipping label.  Products received without an RMA # will not be eligible for credit and will be returned to sender.

If the return is a result of a QuadMed error, we will take every measure to quickly rectify the situation at no cost to you.  Notification of any errors must be received within 14 days of shipment/invoice date. 

 

Orders Deemed Non-Returnable:

 

1. Products returned that are not in their original packaging, or original packaging is broken

2. Products that have been written on or engraved

3. Products that are special/customer orders

4. Products that exceed 60 days from invoice date.
