The Beck Airway Flow Monitor is a disposable device that magnifies the patients respirations with a whistle sound. Attach the BAAM to the end of an E.T. tube to assist with the correct tube placement, blind nasotracheal intubation and to monitor airway status. If you hear a whistle sound, then there is air moving through the device. If there is no whistle sound, then either the tube is in the wrong place, or the trachea is obstructed.
